Traktor Update: 2.0.3 [Feature List inside]

Hey guys,  recent update on our all beloved piece of sofware Traktor Pro 2 from Native Intruments:
New and improved features:
  • Native sample deck control option for Kontrol X1
  • Slot loop size and pitch bend can now be mapped to encoders
  • General performance improvements

Fixes:
  • FLAC issues fixed
  • Startup crashes related to WDM driver sample rate settings fixed
  • Reverb and Tape Delay issues fixed
  • M3U import issues fixed
  • CD "scroll zone" behavior fixed
  • Selected device is now recalled properly in Controller Manager
  • Stripe files are now deleted if a track is deleted from collection
  • Crashes with empty samples fixed
  • Various other minor fixes and improvements

I hope for good results from the "General Performance Improvements" as my poor little lappy is pretty much going weak in comparison to Traktor Pro (1)

Bridge for Itch & Novation Twitch

I've been to the DJ-Day at my local music store and, to be honest, had quite a blast on the new Novation controller coming out this summer: The Twitch

This new controller is the first of it's kind, as it is an approach to provide an all-in-one solution (FX+Transports+Mixer) without Jog-Wheel. The Pitch-Faders are replaced by rotary encoders.

For anyone playing "black" music this might be a desaster, as scratching (which is enabled on the LED touch-strips) is hardly possiple. But this is definitely not the target group of this beast.
The Twitch rocks Electronic-Dance-Music of any kind with the following features:

- New and really exciting Slicer
- 8 dedicated Cue-Pads for each Deck
- Great loop-roll feature
- Fader FX

I had my hands on this thing and the upper mentioned features really impressed me, especially the Fader-FX pretty much nailed it!

The only downside is that the pads could be slightly larger (at least for my Yeti-like hands) and more responsive. Oh, and it's for Itch, and not natively supports Traktor... (still acts as a normal MIDI controller with any sofware)

Itch itself has new features to be coming up:

BRIDGE FOR ITCH

The promoter was pretty excited to tell the big news about this collaboration with ableton.

It is supposed to work like The Bride for Serato, with real-time recording of any action on your controller, incorporating the option to record your whole set and manipulate it afterwards in ableton like an ableton-live set, and lauching clips from ableton inside your Itch-GUI.

Expect this Software in Q3 2011 is what he said... you know... thats what he said.

First Traktor 2 Update - Traktor 2.0.2

Hey guys, the mailman just delivered this nice update:

Dear TRAKTOR DJ,

We're pleased to announce that the TRAKTOR 2.0.2 update is now available for free download. The update contains several new features and improvements for all users of the newest generation of TRAKTOR including:

 - Improved performance and smoother BPM display when scratching with timecode
 - Alternative font selection enabled in TRAKTOR DUO 2
 - Pitchfaders enabled in TRAKTOR LE 2

You can download the update using the NI Service Center or the Online Update Manager.

We strongly recommend downloading and installing this update to ensure the best possible user experience and reliability — especially if you use timecode control.

Best regards,

Your Native Instruments team

Nothing major for Pro users without timecode like me, and still no MIDI command for the Sampler-Source...

Anyway, online update here:

Update-Download

Updates are now handled different in Traktor. Since Traktor 2 all Updates install independently from the existing software.

Switching back to the old version on you system is therefore much easier now!

As the community reports the Update seems to bring some problems concerning the NI X1, and the Mix-Recorder with it.
